People tend to take floors for granted and don't give much thought to how to keep them safe. It's not often realised that to design a floor surface that will stand heavy traffic and which can be kept clean and safe is not an easy task! Inventor and Industrial Chemist, Mark Collins has taken advantage of his experience as a flooring expert and created a system that will rapidly analyse floor surfaces to improve safety and encourage more effective cleaning practices.
Introducing the SlipGuardian from Surface Control Limited - the company that we have set up with Mark to take his brilliant invention to market. The clever device is specially developed to be easily portable and can take floor measurements which are processed and fed back to a central computer over the internet.
To get SlipGuardian under way, Mark approached TBBplc by downloading our inventor pack and submitting his idea for evaluation. Our patent attorneys established that protection could be gained for the idea and with the thumbs-up from our commercial review team we helped Mark to set-up a company, apply for a patent and take the product to market. We have been working closely with the Building Research Establishment in proving the concept behind the SlipGuardian system.
