Slip Guardian goes into Production
After nearly two years in development orders were placed this month for the first Slip Guardian production machines. The Surface Control company which is one of the TBB spin-offs has already started delivering services using the prototype machines.
Michael Rowbory the Business Development Manager for Surface Control said
"We see great opportunities for Slip Guardian but we have been held back by the lack of machines. With these new machines we will be able to carry out more sales demonstrations and deliver more services."
The Slip Guardian units are part of a complete Floor Management System originally designed by Inventor Mark Collins. The service has already been delivered to a chain of hotels, a shopping mall and a Hospital Group. Mark said "It has been two years hard work getting to the point where we can deliver the service but the start of production is a major milestone achievement."
Accidents caused by slippery floors are a major problem for the UK and costs the economy hundreds of millions of pounds every year. Every supermarket, leisure centre, airport and factory faces compensation claims and disruption because of people slipping over. The problem until now has been the difficulty of getting simple and reliable measurements of floor surface quality. Surface Control solves these problems with simple, yet but powerful floor-monitoring solutions.
